Er zijn weer wat leuke prijzen verdeeld:

Olivier Jobard of Sipa Press has won the 2004 CARE International Award for Humanitarian Reportage for his work documenting the mounting humanitarian crisis in the Darfur region of Sudan.

Jobard covered the mass exodus of black Arab farmers from their native villages in February 2003. Since then, more than 10,000 people have been killed and more than a million displaced by government-sponsored militias embarking on a campaign of ethnic cleansing. Jobard will accept the $9,725 (8,000 Euro) prize at the Visa pour l'Image photojournalism festival in Perpignan, France this summer, where his work will be exhibited alongside work from four finalists.

Magnum awarded its Inge Morath Award to Mexico City-based photographer Claudi Guadarama Guzman for her project on undocumented migrants from Central American who risk death, deportation and robbery by crossing into Mexico in search of a better life in the United States. The $5,000 prize is awarded annually to a female documentary photographer under the age of 30 in memory of the late Magnum member Inge Morath.
